NPPF12A The Practice in the Age of New Technology
This course is for all financial planners who wish to learn more about the laws, issues, risks and practices related to the information technology (IT) used in their practice.
In this course, you will explore:

- Computer Security and Best Practices
- Theft or Loss of Personal Information
- Adding IT Risks to the Business Continuity Plan
- Electronic Messages and the Client File

- Online Marketing and Advertising: Professional Ethics and Risks
- Offering Online or Remote Advisory Services: Bill 141
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Identify the opportunities offered by IT
- Add IT to your professional practice
- Identify the issues related to using IT in the practice of financial planning
- Avoid the risks associated with using IT in the practice of financial planning
- Manage incidents and crises

This course must be followed by all F.Pl. between December 1, 2019 and November 30, 2023. If you register for this course during the current professional development cycle (which ends on November 30, 2023), you will have to complete it before that date. It is not transferable to the next cycle.
